I received a Broadway imPRESS press-on manicure set in Casting Call as part of my Spring Fever 2013 voxbox recently. Did I like them or not? Find out after the jump!

- No drying time
- Easy removal
- Superior, lasting shine
- Lasts up to a week
From my experience all of this is true, except I wore them less than a week. You'll find out why in a minute! Of course there's no drying time. They're artificial nails. They were surprisingly easy to put on and remove. I love the Broadway artificial nails with the glue but it always gets on my fingers and it's pretty much like super glue. And you run the risk of air bubbles. With the press-ons you don't need glue and there's no risk of air bubbles because there's an adhesive on the back of the nail and they are opaque. They are very shiny and I experienced no chips or dulling while wearing them. They also felt very secure on my nails.
Now on to why I didn't wear them a full week. They're soooo thick! Like twice as thick as normal glue-on nails. And there was a tiny gap between the artificial nail and my nail and gunk kept getting into that space and it just seemed kind of unhygienic. And the color I got was super ugly, in my opinion. (I wanted pink!) So I wore these a measly 3 days. But on a positive note, they were super easy to take off. I just popped them right off.
But the worst part of all is probably that I had to cut my nails down to the quick to get these to fit and even then, on a couple of nails, you could see my nail poking out. I normally wear my nails kind of long and my nails are just naturally long in the first place. I did do some research and saw that Broadway makes the imPRESS nails in medium length but there's only a few designs. (I saw a sparkly french manicure one, though!) I might give them a whirl. I really like this concept.

Have you tried the Broadway imPRESS manicures? What did you think?

I really love these nails. The only problem I have is that the thumb size is too small for my thumb and too large for my third finger. I need more sizes.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a real fan of press-on nails for that reason. There are never enough sizes so you're forced to compromise on a few nails! lol I've recently taught myself how to apply acrylics and that seems to be working out better.
